Heavy metal outfit Mastodon have recently confirmed via their twitter page that they are in the works to start writing and recording a new song for the forthcoming prequel to the Pixar movie Monsters Inc entitled Monsters University.
The band have previously delved into movie soundtracks before, providing the opening song for the Adult Swim movie Aqua Teen Hunger Force and scoring the music to the 2010 action western Jonah Hex.
Monsters University is due for release on June 21, 2013.
