Grammy Awards Nominees Revealed

Nominations for the 55th Grammy Awards were revealed last night which will take place on February 10th.

Frank Ocean has been nominated in six categories which sums up what an incredible year he has had. These categories include Best New Artist, Album Of the Year, Best Urban Contemporary Album, Record of the Year (Thinking Bout You), Best Rap/Sung Collaboration (No Church in the Wild) and Best Short Form Music Video.

2 Chainz received three nominations, in which he’ll contend for ‘Best Rap Album’ against the likes of Drake, Nas, Rick Ross and Lupe Fiasco. 

Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d. city was released after September 30, which won’t be eligible for nomination until next year. Diplo has been nominated for Producer of the Year, for his work with Usher, Santigold, Major Lazer, Alex Clare and Justin Bieber.

In other genres Mumford and Suns have been nominated for Album of the Year, whilst Ed Sheeran has been nominated for Song of the Year. Furthermore Alabama Shakes have stacked their claim in the nominations this year, who are up for three awards, most notably Best New Artist.
